Case study: can a brand-new studio get named by AI assistants?

We sell AI-search visibility, so we run the same test on ourselves and publish the score. Baseline measured 9 October 2026: Lumiono was named in 0 of 40 AI answers to real buyer questions. This page is the live log — updated every week until the number moves.

Reading 1 — 9 October 2026

How this is measured (so you can repeat it)

Twenty questions a US service-business owner actually asks an assistant — dentist, plumber, law firm, HVAC, med spa, roofing, consultant. Each question was sent to two models (Azure OpenAI deployments gpt54mini and gpt54), one clean run each, no browsing, answers capped at ~120 words. Every answer was then searched for the string "Lumiono".

Result: 0 of 40 answers named Lumiono on 9 Oct 2026. The raw answers are published, unedited: lumiono-baseline-2026-10-09.json.

Why 0 is the honest starting line

Assistants name a business when several independent pages agree that it exists and does the thing being asked about. A nine-day-old domain with no third-party mentions has nothing to agree on — so it is named zero times, no matter how good its own pages are. That is not a technical failure; it is what the first reading looks like for every new brand, including the ones now quoted in AI answers.

What moves this number (and what does not)

Does not: changing meta tags, buying directory spam, keyword-stuffed copy, more pages nobody links to.

Does: one consistent named entity (person + company + address) that every page agrees on; repeated mentions on independent sites; answer-shaped pages that mirror the exact question a buyer asks; and freshness signals that show the site is alive.

Questions people ask about this page

Isn't publishing a zero bad for sales?

A number a buyer can verify beats a claim they cannot. Every competitor quoting results can be re-tested the same way; ours can be re-tested in ten minutes.

Will you keep publishing if it stays at zero?

Yes — weekly, on the same questions, same two models. If the number does not move, that is information too, and it gets published.

Why only two models?

Two deterministic API models keep the test cheap and repeatable. Browsing assistants (ChatGPT with search, Perplexity) vary per session, so they are logged separately in the weekly notes instead of the headline number.
